South Devon Riding Club

South Devon Riding Club is affiliated to the British Horse Society (BHS).  The club aims to provide a warm, friendly and safe environment for its members and organises a number of clinics, competitions and non-riding events for its members, all year round.  As a member of British Riding Clubs (BRC) Area 19, we send teams to qualify at Area competitions across many disciplines and our teams generally do very well, qualifying for and performing exceptionally well, at many of the national finals!   We aim to run three residential camps a year at Stockland Lovell and Chard Equestrian.

If you are interested in becoming a member, take a look at our Membership page and we look forward to welcoming you to the club.

Riding Club Constitution

The South Devon Riding Club and its members aim to follow/work towards the Rules and Objectives set out in the Riding Club Constitution.

Health and Safety Policy

South Devon Riding Club would like to make it clear that, while:

  • horse riding is a risk sport,
  • and competitors and members participate entirely at their own risk,

the Club has undertaken certain Risk Assessments in order to anticipate the potential hazards to competitors or members while they are undertaking clinics, competing in events or taking part in Riding Club activities generally. Reasonable measures have therefore been put in place in order to address these risks and reduce them, as much as is possible, given the nature of the sport. These are outlined in more detail in our Health and Safety Policy.
